Read Psalms 70 in context

Scripture Focus

1Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
2Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
Psalms 70:1-2

Biblical Context

David pleads for swift help and rescue from those who would harm him. The passage presents the conflict as an inner movement toward deliverance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read Psalms 70:1–2 as a declaration of your inner state. The cry for 'Make haste' is the urgent pull of awareness toward the I AM, not a petition to a distant deity. In this light, God is not a person outside you, but the very act of awareness that notices you are delivered and helped. The 'soul' the enemies seek is the living I AM within you, and those foes are restless thoughts and memories that pretend authority. When you assume the feeling of being helped—already helped, already delivered—the foes are disarmed; they stumble backward and become ashamed of their own noise. The words that accuse you reveal your old alignment; correcting your inner state makes them confounded by the light of your present conviction. Your power to reverse appearances lies in the simple act of assuming the state of relief, acknowledging that the I AM is your immediate support. As you dwell there, you will witness a reversal in your experience— old fears fade, and your life flows from a cornerstone of inner assurance.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and feel the I AM as your own awareness. Repeat silently, 'I am delivered now,' until the body settles into relief, then revise every anxious thought into unwavering certainty.
