Heavenly Treasures of the Heart

Matthew 6:19-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 6 in context

Scripture Focus

19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

Biblical Context

Earthly treasures decay, while heavenly treasures are stored in consciousness. The heart follows the treasure you choose.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of 'laying up treasures' not as deposit boxes, but as deposits of awareness. Earthly riches are but symptoms of a mind preoccupied with externals; heaven’s treasures are the inner assurance that God’s abundance is forever available. When you deem your provision as an outer affair, your heart follows that image into anxiety and care. Do not change the world by accumulating coins, but change the creditor of your life—the consciousness you inhabit. Real treasure is a settled sense of I AM, the knowing that you are immersed in everlasting supply, guided by wisdom that never loses value. To interpret the text is to revise your present assumption: 'I am wealth in the kingdom of God,' not tied to moth or rust or thieves. See every perceived lack as a call to tighten your grip on inner abundance. As you imagine and feel from that center, your outer world begins to align; you become the steward of inner riches, and your heart naturally rests where it truly belongs.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the assumption: 'I am wealth in the kingdom of God.' Feel the heaven within you now.
