Luke 21:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 21 in context

Scripture Focus

7And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Luke 21:7-8

Biblical Context

The disciples ask when these things will happen and what signs will accompany them; Jesus warns to beware of deception and not to follow those claiming to be Christ since the time is near.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this moment, the 'things' Jesus speaks of are not distant events but states of mind arising in the watcher. The time draweth near is the nearness of your own inner conviction, the moment you awaken to the I AM that you are. The warning 'take heed that ye be not deceived' is a counsel to guard your imagination from counterfeit images that pretend authority. When minds say, 'I am Christ' or promise a coming salvation through outer sign, notice the impulse as a movement of your own belief - an inner mirage, not a fact. Stay with the awareness that you are the I AM, the unchanging presence behind every scene. Do not chase voices or signs external to you; instead, revise any belief that you are at the mercy of time or others' claims. Enter the quiet certainty of your own unity with God, and let your inner Christ shine as the present reality, here and now, dissolving fear and deception by your unwavering consent.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume you are the I AM now, and repeat 'I AM the true presence within me' until you feel a deep steadiness. Then rest in that knowing, letting any outer signs fade into the background.
