Read Luke 21 in context

Scripture Focus

34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:34-36

Biblical Context

Luke 21:34-36 warns to guard the heart against overindulgence and worldly cares so you won't be caught unaware. It calls you to constant watchfulness and prayer to align with your true self.

Neville's Inner Vision

This passage reveals a condition of mind, not a distant event. Surfeiting, drunkenness, and cares are inner states dulling awareness; the ‘day’ that comes upon all is the moment your inner state meets itself as fact. The snare is clinging to surface appearances and future troubles; the cure is watchfulness and prayer—the discipline of returning attention to the I AM within. To be counted worthy to escape is not about earning favor but reconfiguring your consciousness until you stand before the Son of Man, your inner self, the awakened I AM. The Son of Man is an inner station of witness, not an external judge. Hence, refuse identification with restless thoughts and imagine you are already the watcher who never leaves the inner room. Do this, and the inner weather shifts, and your outer world follows your inner decision with ease and grace.

Practice This Now

In the next moment, close your eyes and assume the state of the watcher: 'I AM awake, I am never overwhelmed by surfeiting or cares.' Then revise a current concern by accepting it as resolved in this inner state and feel the relief wash through you.
