Inner Jerusalem Rising

Luke 21:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 21 in context

Scripture Focus

24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Luke 21:24

Biblical Context

The verse speaks of upheaval—people fall by the sword, are led away into various nations, and Jerusalem is trodden underfoot until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine Luke 21:24 as a map of your interior life. Jerusalem is not a city over there, but the sacred center you call I AM, the seat of awareness. The edge of the sword marks a decision point when you meet a challenging thought and choose whether to identify with it or to rest in the one who witnesses it. When 'they shall be led away captive into all nations,' see this as the scattering of attention into the many concerns and roles of a waking mind, none of which defines you. The 'Gentiles' trodden Jerusalem represents the outward powers of fear, doubt, and circumstance pressing upon inner truth. Yet these outward forces are not permanent; they are the weather of a temporary dream. 'Until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled' signals a phase in which misidentification is allowed to run its course and then ends as you return to the realization that you are the I AM. The inner Jerusalem rises as you abandon the illusion of separation and affirm your unity with the divine presence within. Your experience shifts when you revise the scene from the witness of I AM and feel the truth as real.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and rest in the I AM. Revise the scene by declaring, 'I am the sovereign awareness here,' and feel the inner Jerusalem rise as the surrounding thoughts fade.
