Scripture Focus

20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Luke 21:20-21

Biblical Context

The passage signals approaching judgment and the need to withdraw from the crowded center of fear, choosing an inner retreat so as not to be drawn back by external pressures.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Luke's scene, the siege is a metaphor for your state of consciousness. When Jerusalem—the center of your being—is surrounded by armies of fear and doubt, desolation is announced as the old image dying. The instruction to flee to the mountains and depart from the midst is not a geographical directive but a shift of attention: withdraw from the crowded thought-world and ascend into the mountains of awareness—the I AM that never fears. There you are safe already; the world of appearances must follow the movement of your inner posture. Do not permit those in the countries to re-enter your mind; you have shifted to your own fortress of consciousness. Practice by assuming the state you desire as if it already were true, revise any lingering lack, and feel it real in your breath. Imagination is your instrument; by dwelling in the mountain-state, the desolation you witness on the page of life is transformed into a fresh Jerusalem within you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes; visualize Jerusalem surrounded by armies; silently declare I AM the observer; breathe in and feel the mountains of awareness as your safe ground; stay there for a few minutes and let the inner renewal arise.
