Inner Path to Jerusalem
Luke 18:31-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Luke 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus tells the twelve that they are going up to Jerusalem where the Son of Man will be delivered, mocked, scourged, and killed, and on the third day be raised. The disciples understand none of these things; the meaning is hidden from them at that moment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Luke presents not an event in time but a map of inner life. In Neville’s sense, the journey to Jerusalem is the turning of attention toward the center of being, where the old self is crucified so a higher self can be revealed. The Son of Man is your I AM, the awareness that must be delivered into the hands of experience to prove its power. The prophecies indicate inner laws at work; the disciples’ lack of understanding shows their consciousness was not ready to perceive the end-state. When you interpret it this way, the foretold suffering and the rising on the third day become your present dynamics: ego dissolves in the crucifixion of limited belief, and a new life is born in consciousness. The remedy is simple: assume the end where you have already risen, revise all contrary stories, and feel it real until imagination yields reality. Prophecy thus becomes an invitation to the daily awakening of the I AM through deliberate imagining.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the end already achieved—your own I AM risen into a new life. Hold that presence for a few breaths and let it color your next thoughts and actions.
