Treasure In Heaven Within

Luke 18:19-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 18 in context

Scripture Focus

19And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
20Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
Luke 18:19-22

Biblical Context

A rich young man tells Jesus he has kept the commandments. Jesus shows that true goodness comes from God within and urges him to release attachment by selling his possessions and following him.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's inner school, the man is a state of consciousness clinging to outward law. God is the I AM behind all; the call to sell is a revision of identity, letting go of ownership so abundance flows from the inner nature of God. Treasure in heaven is treasure in consciousness, a life governed by divine law rather than fear or possession. Following Jesus means following the inner guidance of your higher Self, not a social code. Until the mind accepts that wealth equals inner freedom, the lack remains. Practically revise today: declare, 'I am the I AM; I release attachment to possessions and align with the inner light that follows.' By feeling the reality of this new state, outer conditions begin to reflect it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat, 'I am the I AM; I release attachment and give from inner abundance.' Then picture a bag of coins dissolving into a river of light as you step into the following of your inner Jesus.
