Hooks in the Jaw of Imagination
Ezekiel 38:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 38 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes a great coalition being drawn forth by a divine act, and shepherded by a will that moves outward appearances according to inner intention.
Neville's Inner Vision
Observe how Ezekiel speaks of turning back and pulling forth an army as if from within. In the I AM that you are, every external gathering is but a symbol of an inner disposition. The 'hook in the jaw' is not a weapon of fate but a belief you have held, a line your mind has allowed to pull your attention toward conflict. When I fix my attention on the I AM, the inner states that produced fear and separation are turned back, and the imagined armies are drawn into my greater sense of self. The 'Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, Togarmah'—these are not distant nations but the many masked aspects of my own mind seeking attention. By recognizing that the movement comes from within and not from without, I can revise the scene: I am the one who calls forth and can dissolve what was pulling me toward struggle. The progress of this inward army is the progress of consciousness itself toward harmony; the outer world simply answers the inner state. So I rest in the realization that the divine Hand gently redirects the hook, weaving a new alliance of peace within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and revise the scene: the I AM turns the hook in fear's jaw and gathers a disciplined inner army into harmony. Feel it real until the sense of battle dissolves into peace.
