Biblical Context
Zechariah 7:9 calls us to practice true judgment and to show mercy and compassion to every brother.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the inner perspective, Zechariah 7:9 speaks not to a distant ruler but to the inner I AM that you are. 'Execute true judgment' is a call to discerning awareness—an integrity of thought that sees truth without twisting it to serve fear. 'Show mercy and compassion to every man, his brother' becomes a directive to treat every projection of your mind as a brother, deserving of your compassionate regard. When you habitually condemn, you teach separation; when you steady your mind on mercy, you awaken justice in your world. The verse thus becomes a manual for inner state: justice and mercy are not external acts alone but the dynamic rhythm of your consciousness. Your outer circumstances will reflect the inward unity you cultivate: the more you imagine yourself as the one who judges righteously and loves fully, the more you notice fair dealing and generous hearts showing up in return. Practice by assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled—see yourself in a moment of contact with a brother—and declare: I am the I AM of true judgment and mercy in this situation.
Practice This Now
Choose a person you struggle with. Assume the feeling that you already embody true judgment and merciful regard toward them, and revise any harsh interpretation by affirming the I AM within you as the source of justice and mercy.
