The Inner Covenant Unfolds

Zechariah 11:10-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus

10And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
11And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
12And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.
14Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Zechariah 11:10-14

Biblical Context

Zechariah 11:10-14 shows two staffs—Beauty and Bands—being cut, symbolizing the breaking of loyalty and unity. It also speaks of assigning a price to truth and severing the bond between Judah and Israel.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scripture I hear the subtle voice of inner states. Beauty stands for harmony within my consciousness; Bands for the unity of the parts I call Judah and Israel in myself. When I cut Beauty and Bands, I am not performing an act upon the world but marking a decision within: I choose to doubt the inner covenant and seek value in the world’s price. The thirty pieces of silver become a symbol of the external measure by which I attempt to quantify spiritual truth. Casting that price to the potter is an inner disposal, a turning away from external validation toward the I AM as the only real measure. The breaking of Bands signals the end of a false brotherhood I have kept with myself—separating parts that belong in a single consciousness. Allow the inner Word—the LORD within—to declare the true unity of Judah and Israel in me. The vision invites me to restore wholeness by choosing faith in the I AM over worldly valuation.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, hold the inner staff Beauty, and revise the belief that value comes from outside. Feel the unity of your being as one with the I AM and cast the price of thirty coins into the potter's wheel, affirming that you are whole.
