Biblical Context
Song of Solomon 7:11-12 portrays moving into the field and vineyards as an inner journey toward love. The field and its early bloom become a metaphor for the awakening of consciousness where love can be expressed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me, the field and vineyards are states of consciousness. When I read, 'let us go forth into the field,' I understand I am choosing to leave the mere appearance of circumstance and enter a living inner landscape where imagination bears fruit. The dawn's rising to the vineyards is the moment consciousness awakens to love as a present reality, not a future wish. The vine flourishing, the tender grape appearing, the pomegranates budding—these are inner confirmations that my inner world is fertile with life and affection. 'There will I give thee my loves' is the I AM’s pledge: love is not withheld by others, but freely given through the state I occupy. Thus, the invitation is not to find love outside but to cultivate it within by maintaining the assumption that I am beloved and a lover in the now. Persist in this inward climate, and the world of appearances will respond to the truth you have already established: love is established in your consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and step into a dawn field in your mind, see the vines flourish, and feel the certainty of love already given; repeat 'I am love, and love is mine' until that feeling is real.
