Song of Solomon 2:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The beloved is presented as a unique, sustaining presence among others, and the speaker rests with delight in that love, tasting its sweetness. She is then led to an inner banqueting feast where love reigns.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the apple tree among the trees as your own distinct state of consciousness, the I AM that stands alone amid the forest of appearances. The beloved among the sons is your inner I AM, the essential you that remains constant while forms come and go. When you sit down under his shadow with great delight, you are practicing dwelling in the feeling that you are loved, not by chance, but by the eternal you. The fruit that is sweet to your taste is the nourishment of your imagination when you accept that this divine presence is real now in you. He brings you to the banqueting house, your inner feast, where you taste the joy of being eternally attended by love. His banner over you is love: the sign you wear in awareness that you are crowned by affection and protected by it. By turning to this inner state as your reality, you align your outer scenes with that love, and life begins to move as a reflection of your inner state.
Practice This Now
Practice: assume the I AM as the beloved; sit in quiet, repeat, 'I am loved and held by the I AM,' and feel that shelter around you. Then envision a banqueting house within your mind and let yourself taste the fullness of that love there.
