Inner Shoe Covenant Testimony

Ruth 4:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ruth 4 in context

Scripture Focus

7Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.
8Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.
Ruth 4:7-8

Biblical Context

Ruth 4:7-8 records an ancient custom where a man removes his shoe and gives it to a relative to seal a redemption; Boaz agrees to redeem Ruth by purchasing the right.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Ruth’s scene, the shoe is not a mere token of property but a symbol of your inner claim to life. The ancient custom announces that a decree has moved from possibility into possession when the I AM of your self consents. The man who drew off his shoe and handed it to his neighbour testifies that the old claim is relinquished and a new one, anchored in the covenant of loyalty, is now alive in your consciousness. Boaz’s buy it becomes a faithful act of imagining you already possess the rights you seek—the right to redemption, the right to belong, the right to construct a future from inner faith. The other kinsman’s hesitation mirrors competing states of mind that cling to lack; when you remain still and say I am, you choose the greater claimant—the one who will seal the covenant within. Thus the outer scene is the inner decree: you can, by willing awareness and felt reality, redeem what you have set aside and rest in the neighbour of your wholeness.

Practice This Now

Practice: Assume you already possess the redemption you seek. In meditation, visualize Boaz handing a shoe to your inner self and feel it real, saying, I am redeemed and at home in my life.
