Biblical Context

Romans 9:12-13 speaks of God's choice as an inner order, not external pedigree. In Neville's view, the elder and the younger are states of consciousness that decide who is favored.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this verse, the elder and the younger are not persons but ages of awareness. The elder embodies outward habit, striving, and the hunger to control; the younger embodies inward trust, vision, and the discipline of quiet faith. When the text says Jacob I loved and Esau I hated, Neville would teach that God loves the inner state that aligns with I AM, not a lineage or appearance. Election, in this sense, is a choosing of consciousness—the choice to dwell as the awareness that already is. If you give your attention to the inner life—the younger—while allowing the outer, your elder, to serve that inner authority, you will find your life rearranging to reflect that order. The I AM, your unconditioned awareness, favors the state that yields peace, creativity, and steadfast conviction. Do not seek approval from outward signs; rest in knowing you are chosen by the inner man, and let the outer world conform to the impression you hold in imagination. Your future is the fruit of your inner assent.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the inner state: I am loved by the I AM; the elder within me now serves the younger. Feel it as real and let this revised impression guide your day.
