Romans 9:12

Biblical Context

Romans 9:12 speaks of the elder serving the younger; in plain terms, the older patterns or outer conditions yield to the newer inner state that rules your life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Know this: the 'elder' is the stubborn habit of separation, the past sense of lack, the outer scene that pretends to govern you. The 'younger' is the seed of the new creation within your mind—the I AM, the aware, that you are already complete. When the elder serves the younger, you are not defeating the old; you are releasing it to fulfill its true function: to remind you to keep returning to the younger, to the inner ruler. The verse invites you to invert the apparent order of things: the outer appears to lead, but the inner conviction of oneness leads. The elder's servitude becomes a grace when the younger is acknowledged as the reality that already stands in your consciousness. Your job is to assume the state of the younger—the accomplished you—right now and let the elder bow to that state. In that moment, your life moves in harmony with the inner decree: the kingdom of God is the inner order of being, not a distant event.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and deliberately assume the state of your desired inner self (the younger). Feel the I AM reigning here and now, and let the elder quietly bow to that reality.
