Biblical Context
The law governs a person only while they live by it; death to that legal pattern frees you to marry the risen Christ and bear fruit unto God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Romans 7 reveals that the 'law' is a fixed pattern of thought in the mind—the state of consciousness you inhabit. The husband and wife are the old identities you have clung to; as long as you identify with them, the law rules your life. But by the body of Christ you are dead to that law and united with another, the risen Christ within. This is an inner marriage, not a change of external rules; with this inner union, the letter loses its binding power and you bear fruit unto God as your life flows from the I AM. When you imagine yourself already resurrected, your attention is drawn away from striving to obey toward living from the living Self. The fruit you desire is the natural expression of that unity, not a tense performance. Accept that the old dominion is dissolved by the awareness of your true, awakened I, and walk forward in quiet confidence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, declare I am dead to the old law and alive unto the risen Christ within me, and visualize a ring of light uniting you to the Divine; then choose a small movement this day that expresses that union.
