Grace Beyond Law: Inner Dominion
Romans 6:12-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Romans 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul urges that sin not reign in the body, and believers yield themselves to God, becoming servants of righteousness. The outcome is holiness and eternal life, not death.
Neville's Inner Vision
Like a living scripture of consciousness, Romans 6:12–23 invites you to stop letting the belief in separation reign in your body and to yield your life to the I AM within. Sin here is not a distant law but a pattern of thought you have believed; grace is the recognition that you are already alive to God, not under the old rules but under the gift of awareness. When you consent to the heart’s form of doctrine, you awaken as a servant of righteousness, and the body follows the state you acknowledge. The command not to yield your members to unrighteousness becomes a practical discipline: choose what your attention and your actions serve, and see that your true self is freedom from sin, fruit unto holiness, and eternal life. You are the master of the inner kingdom by exercising the I AM now: you are not under the letter of the law but under its spirit, which is consciousness awakening to its own power to create. In this light, every choice becomes a surrender to the inner God.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: For 5 minutes, assume the feeling of being alive from the dead and already in right relationship with God; act as if you are yielding every action to righteousness, and let that inner state color your next task.
