Path To Peaceful Edification

Romans 14:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 14 in context

Scripture Focus

19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Romans 14:19

Biblical Context

The verse invites us to pursue peace and to use our influence to uplift others. It frames peace as practical, interpersonal behavior.

Neville's Inner Vision

Romans 14:19 is not a command to chase external peace as if it sits apart from you; it is an invitation to dwell in the state of peace you already are. In Neville's terms, peace is a state of consciousness, the I AM that perceives and loves, not a fickle mood. When you decide to follow after what makes for peace, you are deciding to inhabit a mental atmosphere where accusation dissolves, where the other is seen not as an opponent but as a signal pointing to your own inner needs. Edification then flows as a natural expression of that state: your thoughts, words, and deeds become instruments that build up rather than break down. The other person is a mirror; you are the creative force behind the scene. By imagining yourself as the healer of quarrel, you undo separation and reveal unity. Practice constant revision of any anxious inner script: 'I AM peace in this moment; I beget peace in the world through my tone, my listening, my constructive words.'

Practice This Now

Before a conversation that could spark conflict, close your eyes, declare 'I AM peace in this moment,' and imagine your tone, questions, and words lifting the other. Then carry that feeling into the exchange and revise any anxious thought to support edification.
