Romans 14:1-2

Biblical Context

Verse 14:1-2 invites you to welcome those who are weak in faith, without turning belief into quarrels. It honors diverse convictions while upholding unity among the community.

Neville's Inner Vision

I see Romans 14:1-2 as a map of the inner states you inhabit. The 'weak' is not another person apart from you, but a facet of your own consciousness, a thought you have not fully assimilated. To 'receive' him is to acknowledge that every state exists within I AM, and to treat its movements with gentleness rather than judgment. When one believes he may eat all things and another says he cannot, notice the inner disagreement as a scene in your imagination. The moment you refuse to dispute and instead hold the mood of inclusion, you revise the outer world by changing your inner position. Your unity with all faiths and feelings arises not by changing others but by becoming aware that your awareness is the one power shaping both alike. As you entertain the belief that all paths lead to wholeness, the sense of division dissolves and the whole body of God—your entire consciousness—breathes as one.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the unity of your own consciousness and deliberately receive the 'weak in faith' as a facet of you. Feel it real by repeating the affirmation and noticing a soft, inclusive mood settling over your days.
