Biblical Context
Romans 12:6-8 teaches that God distributes diverse gifts—prophecy, service, teaching, exhortation, giving, leadership, and mercy—according to grace, to be used with faith and cheerful simplicity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your life is the field where grace arranges the varied gifts as expressions of your I AM. When Romans speaks of gifts according to the grace given, it reveals these faculties are not earned prizes but states of consciousness you awaken. The prophecy you feel drawn to, the service you render, the teaching you impart, the exhortation you offer, the giving you perform, the ruling you exercise, the mercy you extend—each rises to the surface only as you accept it now as your inner capacity. The 'proportion of faith' is not a test you pass but your current conviction that you are already the source of the gift. So shift your self-image: see yourself as the one who speaks truth, serves with ease, teaches with clarity, acts with cheerful confidence, and leads with diligence, while loving all without fanatic effort. Do not chase them outwardly; feel them inwardly as present states, and your outer life will mirror this inner reality. Imagination creates reality, and your gifts are the living proof of that fact.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the feeling I am the gift I am drawn to be now; see yourself moving from inner conviction into simple, cheerful, diligent action.
