Read Romans 12 in context

Scripture Focus

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1

Biblical Context

Paul urges believers to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. He frames this as the reasonable form of worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here, the mercies of God are not distant favors but the shifting of your own awareness into a new identity. To present your body a living sacrifice is to refuse to identify from the old story and to awaken as the state you desire to inhabit. Your 'body' is the outward expression of an inner state; holiness is not a rule you perform but a consciousness you dwell in. When you imagine from the I AM—the deep, unified awareness that you truly are—you offer every act, sensation, and circumstance to the divine, not as subjection but as alignment with the divine pattern. 'Acceptable unto God' becomes, in Neville's terms, acceptance by your own consciousness of the ideal you intend to become. The 'reasonable service' is the natural consequence of living from the truth of your consistent, new self. Do not seek permission from outside; instead, cultivate the inner conviction that you are already the holy instrument through which light manifests in form.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively assume the state of your desired self now: 'I AM holy, living sacrifice—present in every moment as my true identity.' Then feel that state until it colors your actions and choices for the day.
