Inner Trumpets of Change
Revelation 8:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The first trumpet brings hail and fire that scorch a third of the earth's trees and grass; the second launches a burning mountain into the sea, turning a third of the sea to blood and destroying life and ships.
Neville's Inner Vision
The verse is not about distant judgment but the drama of your own consciousness. Earth stands for the ground of habit and health; sea for the vast subconscious life of emotion; trees and grass for vitality and form; ships for directions of your life. The hail, fire, and blood are the intensities of belief colliding with fear, burning away worn patterns until only a third remains—yet the I AM, your unstained awareness, remains untouched. When you identify with the observer, the chaos reveals hidden openings for growth. By retaining the sense of self as vast, you can allow the inner state you desire to replace the old pattern: renewal of vitality (trees/grass), a sea that serves life rather than robs it, and ships that sail toward your true purpose. The outward turmoil becomes a sign that your inner state is shifting, not that you are judged; you are being purified to reveal your higher self.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine a calm sea with a mountain dissolving into it. Then affirm, I AM the observer here; I revise my world by feeling this new state as already real.
