Biblical Context
The scene depicts a woman on a scarlet beast, symbolizing seductive power and false worship, with kings and inhabitants drawn by her wine. It points to judgment for idolatry and invites inner examination.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through Neville's lens, this vision is not about distant nations but about your own state of consciousness. The 'fornication' and the 'wine' are symbols for clinging to appearances and to external power, the intoxicating beliefs that govern your attention. The 'woman' seated on the scarlet beast names the parts of you that identify with status, glamour, and control, and the 'kings of the earth' are the social programs within your mind that feed on those images. In the wilderness of awareness, you can see these movements clearly as a dream. When you remember that God is the I AM within, you reverse the dream: the beast loses its grip, the cup's contents are transformed from abominations to grace, and the harlot fades as a memory of separation. The work is to revise the scene by assuming a new state of consciousness—one in which you are worshiping the Presence that you are, not the symbols that pretend to rule you. Imagination becomes your instrument: declare the truth, feel it as real, and watch the outer forms realign to reflect the inner light. The vision becomes a gentle invitation to return to the living Presence within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and revise the vision now by declaring, 'I AM the I AM,' sensing that all outer symbols bow to your inner Presence; feel the altar within ignite with divine light.
