Scripture Focus

1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
2The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
3Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
4The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
5Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
7He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
8Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
9Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Biblical Context

Psalm 99 proclaims the LORD's kingship and holiness, inviting reverent worship and the practice of justice; it recounts how God's presence answers those who call on Him, underscoring the holy order within the soul.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within me the LORD reigns; the 'earth' moves when I awaken to that reality. The 'cherubim' are not distant beings but the two great powers of attention—awareness seated between thrones of memory and possibility. When I acknowledge the I AM as king, the great and terrible name becomes the holy name I call upon in quiet certainty. The king's strength loves judgment, for judgment is the inner act of aligning desire with truth; I establish equity by choosing thoughts that enforce righteousness in my own Jacob, my personal story. Exalting the LORD and worshiping at his footstool means I rest my imagination at the place I stand, the footstool of consciousness; holiness becomes my habitual mood. Moses, Aaron, Samuel symbolize inner priests who call on God and receive answer; I am my own priest, listening to the clouded pillar of guidance within. God forgives, even as I release retrograde inventions; when I ascend to his holy hill, I see the world transformed by one abiding state: holiness within.

Practice This Now

Assume the consciousness of ruling now: affirm 'I reign as the I AM' and let attention rest on the footstool of your awareness; allow holiness to become your natural mood as you move through the day.
