Biblical Context
Psalm 98:1-9 invites all creation to sing a new song, acknowledging salvation, righteousness, mercy, and truth. It calls the earth to rejoice as the Lord comes with equity in judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
All that the psalm declares as victory is a state of consciousness, not a distant event. The LORD you sing to is the I AM within—your eternal awareness. His right hand and holy arm are the faculties you wield when you assume victory and dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled. To sing a new song is to revise the old picture of yourself and acknowledge that salvation and righteousness are already known in your mind, ready to be openly demonstrated in your life. Mercy and truth toward the house of Israel become remembered promises that refresh your inner world, perceived by all the parts of your life as you hold the image of God in your heart. Let the sea, the floods, the hills—your inner universe—respond in chorus as you consent to God’s justice and equity flowing through you. The loud praise is a discipline: let the inner state be vivid enough to reshape outer circumstances. When you abide in this awareness, your world becomes the outward sign of your inward alignment, and victory follows naturally.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and declare I AM; salvation and righteousness are present now. Hold that feeling until it dominates your life and outer events begin to reflect it.
