Psalms 97:9-12

Biblical Context

Psalm 97:9-12 declares that God is supreme, calls the righteous to hate evil, promises preservation, and invites joy and thanksgiving in holiness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 9 sets the frame: the LORD stands above every object of worship, the height of consciousness that you, as the I AM, must affirm as your own. When you declare that the Lord is high and exalted above all gods, you are not praising a distant sky but awakening your own inner sovereignty. Verse 10 calls you to hate evil not as judgment of others, but as a decision to abandon any thought or feeling that undermines your sense of divine order. The Psalm promises preservation of the saints and deliverance from the old fear-driven self, which means your higher self protects and guides you when you identify with the light within. Verse 11–12 tells you light is sown for the righteous and that joy follows the upright heart; this is the natural harvest of living from the memory of holiness. So the whole Psalm is a instruction to rest in the I AM, to align with holiness, and to let your inner light effervesce into gratitude and fearless worship.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the high and holy Lord of my consciousness.' Feel the arising gratitude as your inner kingship guides your next moment.
