Biblical Context
The psalm invites joyful song and thanksgiving before the LORD, who is the rock of our salvation. It invites approaching the inner presence with gratitude, turning worship into a living recognition.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this psalm, the invitation is not to seek somewhere outside, but to awaken to the I AM within. 'LORD' is the inner God, your everlasting awareness; 'rock of our salvation' is the steadfast posture of consciousness that does not fear change, a solid sense of being and safety. 'Let us sing unto the LORD' becomes: speak your truth in the atmosphere of your own mind, a vibration that harmonizes with the eternal I AM. 'Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving' is a return to gratitude as the mood of your inner room; thanksgiving is not a ritual outside, but the glow of recognition that you have always been present to yourself. 'Make a joyful noise unto him with psalms' indicates the spontaneous expressions of this inner state—joy as the natural sound of realized life. When you dwell as the I AM, all outward events rearrange to reflect your inner certainty; worship is simply the acceptance of your true nature.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are already singing to the I AM, letting thanksgiving rise as a solid current in your chest. Carry that inner song into the next moment and watch outer life reflect your realized presence.
