Read Psalms 94 in context

Scripture Focus

22But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
23And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
Psalms 94:22-23

Biblical Context

The Lord is my defense and the rock of refuge; He will bring judgment on the wicked according to their own iniquity. The emphasis is on inner assurance, not external force.

Neville's Inner Vision

The verse speaks not of a distant God acting upon a world, but of your own consciousness declaring, I AM defense, I AM rock of refuge. See defense as the steady state of awareness that cannot be moved by fear, and the rock of refuge as the unshakable sense of being protected by your own true nature. When thoughts of danger arise, recognize them as passing movements within you and not as realities separate from you. The phrase their own iniquity points to the habit patterns you have identified with as yourself; as you awaken to the truth that you are the I AM, those patterns lose their hold and are cut off by the clarity of your realization. This is not vengeance from without but a purification of inner states; as you dwell in the consciousness of protection, the outer world follows with calmer, more orderly occurrences. The Psalm thus becomes a practical map: align with awareness, and protection and justice unfold from within, manifesting as salvation in your life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Quietly affirm, I am defense and the rock of refuge; feel a surrounding shield of calm awareness. When fear or attack thoughts arise, revise them by recognizing they are inner movements dissolving in your present Knowing.
