Scripture Focus

2Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
3Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
Psalms 74:2-4

Biblical Context

The psalm invites God to remember the congregation and Zion, while describing the enemies' desecration in the sanctuary—an inner drama of fidelity and loss.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 74:2-4 is not about geography but your inner geography. Remember thy congregation—your inner assembly of virtues and covenants, the state you have purchased by awareness. The rod of thine inheritance is the power vested in your I AM to command reality. Zion is the inner sanctuary where God already dwells, the place your attention rests. To lift up thy feet toward the perpetual desolations is to walk through the ruins of former beliefs, letting them desolate in your imagination so that new construction may begin. Your enemies roaring in the midst of thy congregations are the doubts and fears that arise when you forget who you are; they raise their banners as proofs of separation. Do not fight them; revise them. In your imagination, erect new signs that declare unity with the I AM. The sanctuary is intact because you remember it within, and your consciousness becomes the living temple.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, affirm 'I AM' and envision your inner congregation gathered within Zion; revise every doubt as a desolation cleared by your awareness, and feel the sanctuary present now.
