Inner Triumph of Faith
Psalms 70:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 70 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm declares that those who pursue the speaker are to be shamed and confounded. It also calls the seekers of God to rejoice and magnify Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the psalm speaks not of distant enemies but of scenes within your own consciousness. The ones who seem to seek your soul are thoughts: doubt, fear, and the impulse to hurt your sense of worth. They appear as aggressors because you have forgotten that you are the I AM—the awareness that cannot be touched by what it does not consent to. When you claim, Let them be ashamed and confounded, you are not yielding to foes but acknowledging the power to turn every negative suggestion back upon itself. The energy that would hurt you is redirected into a backfire of confusion on the level of your old self-image. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. In the real you, those external ahas dissolve, and all who seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: you now live in the joy of salvation, and you continually say, Let God be magnified. Rest in the I AM, and witness your world rearranging to reflect divine glory.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the I AM as the only power in your life; repeat, I AM, God be magnified in me now. Then imagine the voices that would harm you turning away, their path blocked, as you feel the truth of salvation flooding your heart.
