Inner Reversal of Harm

Psalms 70:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 70 in context

Scripture Focus

2Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
Psalms 70:2

Biblical Context

The verse asks for those who seek the speaker's life to be shamed and confounded, turning their harmful plans back on themselves.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's terms, the 'enemies' are the fearful thoughts within me. To let them be turned backward is to reverse the charge in my own mind: I shift attention from the attack and imagine the impulse returning to its source, losing its force and becoming confusion to itself. By assuming the state that is already true—the I AM aware and untouched by harm—the outward event follows as a natural movement of consciousness. My life is the wake of my inner alignment; when I accept that I am the I AM, the world reflects that inner conviction, and hostile thoughts dissolve into silence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state of I AM, and vividly imagine the thoughts of harm turning back on themselves, becoming confused and retreating; rest in the certainty that nothing can disturb your inner life.
