From Trials to Wealthy Place
Psalms 66:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
The psalm invites blessing to God who sustains our life and keeps our feet from slipping, while testing us as silver refined by fire. It says the trials lead us through hardship to a wealthy place—an inner state of deliverance and renewal.
Neville's Inner Vision
I read this as a map of consciousness. The 'testing' and 'net' are not external circumstances but inner states that tighten attention until you wake to who you truly are—the I AM that holds life. When the psalmist says God has proved us and tried us, see it as the soul’s furnace: the mind resists, yet the inseparable awareness remains steady, and through that steadiness the sense of self is refined like silver. The phrases 'broughtest us into the net' and 'laid affliction upon our loins' symbolize the pressure of circumstance within imagination; yet the final clause—‘thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place’—points to the end of the inner drama: the realization that life is sustained, and abundance flows from inner alignment with God. Praise becomes the music of the I AM, not a response to outside events. Trust the process: you are not the fire or water, you are the witness who emerges into a more abundant, awake state of consciousness.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already in the wealthy place and feel your life sustained, your feet unmoved. In a quiet moment, imagine going through the net, through fire and water, and emerging into abundance; affirm, I am the I AM, held now.
