Within this text, the He is the I AM within you, the everlasting ruler of your consciousness. To say He rules by his power forever is to affirm that your inner life has a sustaining, unshakeable order; outer appearances reflect the drama of your own imagining. When you acknowledge that the eyes beholding the nations are the perception of your awareness, you understand that every event in your world is a movement of inner dispositions. Rebellion and pride are not 'out there' to be battled, but sensations of self-doubt arising in you; do not let them exalt themselves in your mind. Selah invites a pause, a turning inward where you accept the truth that you are governed by an eternal governor who does not depend on others' actions for his sovereignty. As you persist in this awareness, the world you behold responds to your inner posture, and power flows through your life with steadiness rather than strain.
