Inner Fear Scattered by God
Psalms 53:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 53 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Fear arises in the mind even when danger is absent. The verse declares that God has scattered the imagined foe, leaving the threat powerless.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the psalm as a map of your inner state, not a history. The 'they' are the trains of fear that ride across the stage of your mind; 'There were they in great fear, where no fear was' shows fear arising where there is no real danger. The phrase 'God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee' is a declaration of your inner power: the I AM within you disperses the firm, brittle thoughts that form an imagined army. When you align with the truth 'God hath despised them,' you stop feeding the so-called enemy with attention. Your God-given awareness, the I AM, dissolves the illusion and leaves you in peace. Adopting this sense, you can revise any scene of threat as already dissolved by the divine Presence within. With repeated practice, fear loses its grip and your inner kingdom remains untroubled.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, place your awareness on the I AM within, and repeat, 'There is no fear here; I am safe in the presence of God.' Visualize the imagined army dissolving into silence as you feel the calm linger.
