Inner Speech and Divine Truth

Psalms 5:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 5 in context

Scripture Focus

9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
Psalms 5:9-10

Biblical Context

The psalm exposes inner deceit and the harsh judgment it rouses, calling for divine correction. It points to removing false speech and rebellious thoughts from within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture the 'they' as the many voices inside your own consciousness. There is no faithfulness in their mouth; you hear the old self that speaks flatteringly, hides its wickedness behind smooth talk, and keeps you thinking you are apart from the I AM. Psalm 5:9–10 is not about others but about the states you entertain; when you identify with the I AM—the awareness that you are God in expression—the inner sepulchre yields to light. The cry to destroy them becomes a call to dissolve those counterfeit scripts by their own schemes; let the old counsels collapse as you refuse to act them out in imagination. As you persist in the conviction that you are one with divine order, you cast out the rebellious thought and replace it with faithful speech that aligns with truth. By feeling it real that your imagination speaks truth, you reverse the inner narrative: the mind’s flattery drops away and the heart becomes a living altar of integrity.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise one recurring self-talk sentence into 'I am faithful; my words are true.' Then feel it real as you align with the I AM and let that truth govern your speech.
