Scripture Focus

2For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Psalms 43:2-3

Biblical Context

Verse 43:2–3 shows the psalmist feeling cast off and oppressed. It then pleads for light and truth to lead him toward the holy hill and tabernacles.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, Psalms 43:2-3 is not about external events but the inner states of consciousness. 'Thou art the God of my strength' is an acknowledgment that I AM—the divine sense of being—is the power behind every movement. The question 'why dost thou cast me off' exposes the dream of separation, a lament born of identification with lack. In this light, 'mourning because of the oppression of the enemy' becomes a belief in limitation you have the power to revise. When the psalmist cries, 'O send out thy light and thy truth,' he is summoning the two inner faculties that already abide in you as I AM: light as insight and truth as steadfast alignment. Let these qualities lead you; let them bring you to thy holy hill and to thy tabernacles—the inner center of worship where you know yourself as the one Self, beyond fear and time. The transition from lament to seeking light is the shift from identification with circumstances to recognition of your sovereign state. In that shift, faith and trust become the sole weather of your experience, and holiness reveals itself as your natural condition.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your strength, whispering, 'I am the light and truth leading me home.' See yourself stepping onto thy holy hill, feeling the presence of God within and the old heaviness melt into peace.
