Think of the flood as the ceaseless movements of your thoughts and fears. The Lord seated on the flood is your own I AM—the unshakable awareness that stands still while waves rise. To interpret this Psalm the Neville way is to revise your sense of self until you feel you are the throne itself, the king who governs every inner event. When you persist in the assumption that your awareness is sovereign, the inner storms recede and your outer world aligns to reflect that inner authority. The verse invites you to recognize that the King forever is the present you, not a distant conqueror; you awaken to that eternal rule now by feeling it as real.
