Read Psalms 22 in context

Scripture Focus

14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
Psalms 22:14-15

Biblical Context

The psalm speaks of extreme weakness and surrender, portraying the speaker as poured out and broken, with heart like wax and strength dried up. It presents a vivid inner struggle that seeks liberation through enduring faith.

Neville's Inner Vision

The words I am poured out are not a verdict but a call to awareness. In the inner sanctuary the body is but a symbol of your present belief about yourself. When you feel your bones out of joint and your heart melting, do not fix the flesh but revise the state of consciousness that fills it. The I AM, your true being, is unmoved by outward collapse and is the source of all vitality. By dwelling in the feeling of being whole, you reframe the image as movement toward alignment. The dust of death dissolves when you realize you are not the body but the awareness that animates it. As you assume a state of life, strength returns as a renewed sense of purpose; the tongue cleaves to your jaws only when you forget your divine speech. Return to the realization that you are the I AM here, now, and the inner world will reflect that restoration in the outer.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine the entire being as the I AM shining with life; declare I am whole and held by infinite strength, feeling it in your chest.
