It says those who chase after other gods will suffer more. It also rejects the offerings and the names associated with idols.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theater there is but one ruler, the I AM that you are. The 'other gods' are not distant deities; they are states of consciousness you lend your attention to—fear, lack, longing for approval, or the need to prove yourself. When you hurry after them, you multiply sorrows, because you invest your life in images that fade as soon as you try to grasp them. The line about 'drink offerings of blood' speaks to the energy you expend serving these idols—sacrifice, self-judgment, and the drama of drama you give to beliefs that you are not equal to. The law of your being declares: I AM. Speak the true name of God in yourself by refusing to utter any other 'names' and by turning away from the imagined power they hold. To worship truly is neither ritual nor fear but alignment with the one reality within you. When you stop feeding the idolatrous thoughts and rest in I AM, you discover that the idols vanish and your natural state of peace remains.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare: I AM the only reality; there are no other gods governing my life. Revise any belief that you lack or fear; feel the assurance of I AM as real now.
