Psalms 15:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 15 in context

Scripture Focus

2He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
Psalms 15:2-3

Biblical Context

The verses describe a person who lives with integrity and speaks truth from the heart. They urge us to refrain from backbiting, harm, or reproach toward our neighbor.

Neville's Inner Vision

Walk uprightly is not a social pose but a state of consciousness. Righteousness is the alignment of inner conviction with outward acts; to speak truth in the heart means thoughts and words are congruent with the I AM, the awareness of wholeness. When you backbite or harbor ill will toward a neighbor, you reveal a mind split, a dream of lack. The outer world mirrors the inner motion you sustain, so if you desire a just and peaceful world, cultivate an inner attitude that never condemns and never curses, but remains steadfast in truth and kindness. If you wish to be the upright man, assume this state now; revise any past misdeeds by affirming, I am the one who walks in truth in the heart and speaks only what enriches all beings. Feel the reality of this alignment, and let your speech flow from that inner light rather than from judgment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state: I am upright; I speak truth in my heart. Then revise any harsh word by offering your speech to love, and observe how your reality shifts.
