Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm invites rejoicing in the God who formed us and in the inner King within; it calls praise through joyful expression, for God delights in His people and brings salvation to the meek.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this psalm you are invited to recognize that Israel is not a distant nation but your own state of consciousness. Rejoice in him who made you—the I AM that formed your being—for the maker is the very awareness you now possess. Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King, meaning let the facets of your mind recognize the inner ruler you call King and bow to that sovereignty in present tense. Praise his name in the dance: the dance is the dynamic movement of imagination expressing itself through rhythmic thoughts and feelings; let the timbrel and harp—your faculties of memory (timbrel) and harmony (harp)—play in harmony with your assumed state. For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: your awareness delights in the living state you inhabit. He will beautify the meek with salvation: the humble state of consciousness—open, receptive—will be adorned with the realized deliverance of your true nature, here and now. Your experience of life shifts as you dwell in the assumption that you are already what you seek: joy, praise, beauty, and salvation are your native conditions when you regard your I AM as king.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: In the next few minutes, assume the state, 'I am rejoicing in the I AM that formed me' and feel it as present reality; move in a soft, joyful dance and let the heart and breath align with that assumption.
