The Inner Word and Statutes

Psalms 147:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 147 in context

Scripture Focus

19He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalms 147:19-20

Biblical Context

God reveals his word, statutes, and judgments to Jacob and Israel. Other nations do not know these revelations, so the psalm invites praise to the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 147:19-20 offers a practical rule of inner life. Jacob and Israel are not distant tribes but two states of consciousness: Jacob, the evolving self, and Israel, the settled awareness that rests in I AM. The words 'word,' 'statutes,' and 'judgments' are not external decrees but inner laws disclosed to the awakened mind. When you dwell in the I AM—the sense of being that is aware you already are—you 'receive' the word as undeniable inner knowing, and the laws of your life begin to rearrange themselves to match that knowing. The Psalm's remark that God has not dealt so with any nation points to the difference between a consciousness that knows and one that does not; those outside the inner covenant do not perceive these revelations because they are not operating from that state. Your imagination is the instrument by which God reveals himself to you. By consistently maintaining the state that corresponds to your desire, you align with the inner statutes and experience life in harmony with truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit still, close your eyes, and declare, 'I am the Word of God revealed within me now.' Then dwell in the feeling of your fulfilled state for several minutes, letting the inner statutes govern your thoughts and life.
