Psalms 146:3-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 146 in context

Scripture Focus

3Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
Psalms 146:3-6

Biblical Context

The passage warns against trusting mortal rulers; human life is fleeting, but God—the Creator—remains the steady source of help and truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed inwardly, 'princes' and 'the son of man' are not outer authorities but symbols of a conditioned state. To trust the God of Jacob is to trust the I AM within—the one life you are now aware of. The breath that leaves a man and the earth he returns to signal that identity is transient, while the inner nature that does the breathing—your consciousness—endures. The 'heaven and the earth' you perceive are colors cast by your feeling. When you keep truth for ever, you are aligning with the eternal I AM, the Creator who orders your inner world and thus your outer world. So repeat and feel as true: I am one with the God who made heaven, earth, and sea; my hope rests in the LORD of my consciousness. In that alignment, the sense of lack melts, and the appearances of princes or men lose authority to your inward certainty.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, declare 'I am the I AM' as your immediate state, and revise any sense of lack until you feel the steady presence of God as your constant helper.
