Psalm 142: Inner Deliverance
Psalms 142:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The speaker is overwhelmed, crying out for deliverance from stronger foes and release from prison so they may praise. The passage also suggests that the righteous will surround and that God will deal bountifully with the faithful.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's sense, the cry is a figure of speech for a state of consciousness acknowledging lack. Attend unto my cry translates to attend to the inner call of your own I AM, the awareness that interprets your life. The persecutors are not external beings but the belief in limitation that blocks your light. When you feel brought very low, you are requested to turn the focus away from the outer scene and into the inner memory that you are the one who commands reality. Deliver me becomes: I am delivered by the unconditioned power of the present moment. Bring my soul out of prison is the assertion that your consciousness can awaken from self-imposed imprisonment—fear, doubt, identity with lack—and step into a state of praise, gratitude, and liberty. The line 'the righteous shall compass me about' hints at the surrounding harmony of higher states when you dwell in a state of deliverance; 'for thou shalt deal bountifully with me' signals inner abundance as consequence of alignment with I AM. Do this work now by living as the fulfilled version of yourself, here and now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit, close your eyes, and declare, I am delivered now. Feel the release as a tangible sensation, and imagine a circle of the righteous surrounding you in praise, confirming your freedom.
