Read Psalms 138 in context

Scripture Focus

5Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.
6Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Psalms 138:5-6

Biblical Context

God's glory is great and he respects the humble while the proud are distant. Humility is the path to harmony with the divine presence.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 5–6 presents the glory of the LORD and the distinction between humble and proud states. In Neville’s reading, the LORD is the I AM within you, never distant, always present high in consciousness. The 'ways of the LORD' are the habitual thoughts and feelings that harmonize with your true nature. When you cling to pride, you may feel God above you and yourself separated; the proud are afar off because awareness has been split from its source. Release that ego attachment and rest in the I AM, and you invite the divine presence to act through you. Then the LORD's glory shines in every choice, and your life becomes a song of your inner nature. The humble are not diminished; they are emptied of ego, filled with faith in the I AM, and reconciled to grace. Remember: the glory is not outside you but the intensity of awareness you carry when you dwell in Presence. Practice the revision: affirm that you are the glory of the LORD made manifest here and now, and feel it real in this moment.

Practice This Now

Assume the state 'I am the glory of the LORD made manifest' and feel it real. Sit quietly, breathe into that awareness, and let your day unfold as the Ways of the LORD.
