Read Psalms 136 in context

Scripture Focus

1O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
3O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 136:1-3

Biblical Context

The psalm repeats a simple message: give thanks because God is good and His mercy lasts forever. It uses multiple divine titles to remind you that all life flows from one Source.

Neville's Inner Vision

Friend, the psalm does not ask you to seek God outside yourself; it invites you to become the state of gratitude. The LORD and the other titles are different facets of your own awareness, the I AM, shining through life in varying forms. When you repeat 'mercy endureth forever', you are not appealing for mercy - you are aligning your consciousness with an unchanging atmosphere. By dwelling in gratitude, you declare that your surrounding events are reflections of your inner mood, not accidents. Worship, then, is simply the deliberate recognition that you are one with the I AM who blesses. This is the core of true worship: a felt, enduring sense of goodness that you cultivate until it colors each moment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and affirm, 'I AM grateful now, for I am the I AM,' then feel the mercy as a warm, surrounding light. Dwell in that feeling for a few minutes and watch your choices and perceptions align with the new state.
