Biblical Context
Psalm 133:1-2 celebrates the joy of dwelling in unity, likening it to the precious oil on Aaron's head that runs down to his garments.
Neville's Inner Vision
Unity is not a social condition to be achieved by others, but a state of consciousness you assume and live. When you hold the sensation of oneness, the many aspects of your being are anointed by a single oil, flowing from your I AM down through thoughts, desires, and actions. The verse paints this oil as Aaron's head anointing his beard and garments, showing a complete saturation—wholeness from crown to hem. Your 'brethren' are the internal faculties—will, imagination, memory, feeling—united under the same awareness. In that inner harmony, you do not fix others but align your own consciousness with love, peace, and unity, and the world you call your life begins to reflect that alignment. The oil's path illustrates how consciousness circulates: from the higher self into every expression of life, until even the outer circumstances bear the fragrance of harmony. Practice is in the felt negotiation: assume unity as already present, interpret discord as transient, and revise your inner state until the sense of unity is intrinsic and automatic.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the feeling of universal unity, as if the inner oil is already flowing from your I AM through every mode of thought and every relationship. Stay with that felt sense until it saturates your entire being.
