Biblical Context
Psalm 132:6-12 speaks of finding the Ark and entering God's presence, promising righteousness for the priests and joy for the saints. It also declares that David's throne will endure if future generations keep the covenant.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the discovery of the Ark is not a history lesson but a waking in consciousness: you realize that the power and presence of God are not somewhere out there, but as I AM within. The fields of Ephratah and the wood are the quiet places where you turn from outward pursuit to inward recognition. To go into his tabernacles is to enter the shrine of your own awareness, and to worship at his footstool is to acknowledge that all mastery rests at the level of your conscious attitude. 'Arise, O LORD, into thy rest' becomes 'Arise in me, rest in me, I Am.' The ark of thy strength is the living idea by which you formulate your world; the priests cloaked with righteousness are your disciplined thoughts aligned with truth; the saints shout for joy is the joyous disposition that follows alignment. The promise to David—'the throne'—is your realized state of kingship over your life, maintained by keeping covenant with the I AM and with imagination. When you persist in this inner covenant, your future experiences sit on the throne of your consciousness forever more.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the Ark within now. Silently declare, 'I AM the ark of strength in me,' then rest as if already seated on the throne of my consciousness.
