Eating the Fruit of Labor

Psalms 128:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 128 in context

Scripture Focus

2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Psalms 128:2

Biblical Context

The verse promises that those who labor honestly will feast on the rewards of their work, experiencing happiness and well-being as a natural outcome.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your true labor is the discipline of your assumption. The line does not refer merely to physical toil, but to the inner exertion of imagining the end from the beginning. If you, the I AM called consciousness, assume the fruit now, the mind will align its conditions to reflect that inner harvest. Eat the labor of your hands by feeding your sense of self with the belief that your work is already fruitful. Happiness is the natural atmosphere of that realization; well-being becomes the habit of your days because you have settled the truth in your heart. Nothing outside can contradict the scene you entertain in your imagination, for the outer world is only the observable sign of your inner state. So tend the inner garden; imagine prosperity as your present fact, and your hands will work in harmony with that truth, producing joy, peace, and provision.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and picture yourself at ease, eating the fruit of your labor. Feel happiness and well-being as your present condition, and affirm 'I am well and prospering now.'
